WILL YOU?

autumn trees
It is autumn and the birds have gone crazy.
They come in hordes to sojourn in the swamp nearby
They also invade the parks and the gardens.
And some tiny, plucky ones even dare to come inside and become inmates.

They chirp and twitter, they sway hither and thither -their gaiety is
infectious
Mating madly- busy in raising family-they look both ridiculous and gracious
Spot those swans with their majestic carriage or the pigeons roosting
together
The sparrows make such lively pair and they make nests in every possible
corner

The days are so vibrant -the birds have infused me with longing.
The sheen of their plumes, the listlessness of their crooning
Have cast a spell - my heart is aching all over again.
I can no more pretend indifference-all the subterfuge have been in vain.

You are so far, so out of reach, but the birds must have passage there.
They must be singing like little minstrels -on your windowsill as they do
here.
Aren't you moved by their urgency-don't you long for company?
Please my dear, when love beckons, nothing should matter between thee and me

Let us forgive and forget-and start afresh together
Like the pair of birds our life will be full of love and splendor
If you listen carefully- you will get this message in the birds' incessant
chatter.
So my dear, are you ready to take the plunge and be mine for ever?
