Was It A Dream?

I love you,” I shamelessly told my love,

And I you,” he lovingly said;

Then, stretching his arms out to me

He welcomed me into his bed.

Trembling, I glided towards him,

My gown falling softly to the floor,

Tonight, in his arms, I would know

Fulfillment I’d been waiting for.

At first I lay closely against him

Not wanting to break the spell,

Our flesh was as a burning fire

That only submission would quell.

His lips were on mine oh so softly,

His tongue circling my lips in a plea,

I answered his plea with caresses

As I drew him much closer to me.

He covered me with tender kisses,

From my head down to my toes;

We were in the heat of desire now

And as lovers know…anything goes.

Questioningly, he looked into my eyes

And he saw what he wanted to see,

Then with tears in both our eyes,

He gently made love to me.

I lay in his arms, not wanting to leave,

Such ecstasy I've never known,

Then slowly I slipped from his arms

And sadly slid into my gown.

I knew I must leave, he knew it too

As it was quickly becoming dawn,

He kissed me goodbye, then let me go

As quickly as I’d come, I was gone.
