Road To Nowhere

The sun dips, another day dies.
Leaving me here..still alive.
Bereft of the very foundation
of my being
I flounder between worlds.
The known road to paradise ,leads
  there no more.
The signposts to a new world,
all confuse and confound
On the road to nowhere
Am accosted by the weirdest souls.
Angels with daggers and clip-on wings
Devils with invisible halos
and hearts of gold.
