THE CLOCK'S FACE

Time is no longer expansive and to forever last
Few moments in my future and more in my past
What I have done and what I will do
Significantly less time for the moments are becoming too few.

To know and select the time of right and wrong
Bringing from out of the past a top ten song
For the time we spent together and did share
The uncertainty of manhood like a childhood dare.

For the few times to exchange and also to touch
From a silence that said: I love you; very, very much
The special time when remembrances finally took hold
When youth would last forever and time to be ever so bold.

You were my sunrise and also my set
The continuity of my dreams as I haven't forgotten you yet
If time dims my memory I will always have my sound
Songs of the fifties I shall be forever bound.
