A TRIBUTE
A TRIBUTE TO THOSE ON
BOARD THE SPACE SHUTTLE COLUMBIA WHO MIGHT BE KILLED
Death of an angel
In the midst of sudden stir,
I hoped for deliverance
But prayers remain unanswered,
Is this thing called injustice
From the divine,
Or a part of another grand design,
I stand resigned over twisted fate
Acceptance is forced
But heart still refuses to let go
Like streams that flow uncertain,
Distorted in lost ambition,
Life or death in whose hands
Only god knows,
Grieving faces shedding tears
Reason of life and reason of death,
Who will know the reason
Searching in vain over the years.
Is life a blessing ?
Or resigned acceptance to a thwarted fate,
There is a battle of life waging in the body,
What is the reason behind a receding breath ?
Is it a final fight before death,
Or a struggling conscience in
The final clutches of breaking fragments,
Immortality doesn't have breath
In a still body,
Neither can tears reawaken the dead
Is life about searching for grace
In the turbulence of fragile emotions,
Mortality is a boon or curse
Answers are distorted in a ceasing glory,
Life has a start and an end
In motions of life that reveals colour
And ends in the utter dark,
Fragrances of youth ebb,
But the heartbeat remains faithful
In the final stalling, though oldage,
Nimble foot that was in grace
Now stutters behind a lengthy veil
When the curtains shall be drawn
And we living eyes grieve
Hoping through curious eyes
Trying to see past the curtain
But the stage is set for divine interpretation
Where humans cannot trespass nor question
The wisdom of the other side of the curtain.
