When she came to me

There wasn't a moment's hesitation
As she'd rushed towards me,
The weariness from the day's work
Vanished like the last rays of the evening's sunlight
Her eyes reflected the love
Something I couldn't even comprehend
the depth of her affection
Unadulterated, pure, and strong
She was waiting all day long
I could see, she'd not eaten much
During the day, she'd just had
a sip of water to keep her going
No demands, for special treatment,
, or for any thing expensive or fancy
All she wanted was just my presence
To hold, touch and caress her
I knew I could never find a love
more stronger than what she has for me
there wasn't a day when she sulked
or ever been angry with me
I wonder why it is so
that an animal could show so much love
While we as human beings
with our intelligence, show so much of hate
Can we learn sometimes from these lesser beings
(or should we call them lesser beings at all ?)
a thing or two on what love and affection is
and how we can all be so much happier !
