 QUERIES
OF THE HEART
You've
wished me love, so why am I afraid
To use that word in telling what I feel?
I long to say, but past events have made
Me question whether what I sense is real.
You say you miss me, and I miss you, too,
Although, up to this point, we have not met.
Your touch has filled me with desire, while you
Remain but words upon a screen - as yet.
If I should say, "I love you," would you fly
Away? Would you feel threatened by a word?
Or would you smile at me and wonder why
I'd fear you'd act so patently absurd?
My hesitation surely does not hide
The strong emotions growing on my side.
