Lovely
Together
And there the dry beauty of the autumn skies -
paying gallant challenge to your luscious eyes
the wet sun, suitably inclined, glimpsing thru'
whetted desire, for this the heavenly brew
Ambrosia ! that we imbibe at each other's lips,
amidst this that is life, amidst gently urgent sips.
And then, dusk slips softly around
covering the you, the me in harmonious sound.
Shadows sliding & slithering, the dewy shadows
unite lovers in down embroidered embrace.
Eyes open, a terrible compassion, only to close -
reassured, feeling you're there...
A razor sharp silence cuts into fear -
to fear missing you - tho' you're here...
Finding myself in your innocent arresting arms,
only to lose myself, the me in the you.
And the shadows lengthen, and melt away
with the sun on the satin horizon...
we don't need them now, as we never did..
to meld and merge you and me -
the echoes droop towards the south
as the trees murmur dalliances,
ghosts envying the vibrant living...
leaving us in the quietude of
the muted birds.
