SADNESS

What lurks in the dark
Is an unseeing force
The stabbing of sadness doesn't stop
While the wail of the night is unending,
There is a deep lingering silence
In the vacuum that refuses to fill,
I sit alone in the clutches of solitary pain
Trying to regain balance in the see saw of life,
Eyes stare at the blank wall ahead
Seeing in it pictures of a lost past
Searching in it answers of dawn
From pictures of a perpetual night,
The moments pass
Unjustifying the movement of life
Because everything seems stilled in utter loneliness,
I can feel the tears in my eyes
Giving expression to the grief,
When every drop has been filled
By the wail of a dying spirit,
When the birds fly oblivious to the world around
My heart wants to fly with them
Flying without hope,
Letting life give the drift
In the agony of a lost flight,
There are questions unanswered
There are answers to unasked questions,
I can see the pain in the wall ahead
The answers still hasn't come.
