PARTING

For a brief moment you entered my life
Colouring my world with your presence,
You left me to brood in your pain
In your sudden departure,
I was left stranded and frightened
Fighting for a lost cause,
You never returned
Though your footprints remain
But the path of love you created
Led to my own grave,
Love hurts more than its soft caresses
I am frightened by my solitude
Have lost the security of your presence,
The thoughts have given up
Betraying me from the day
You parted from me.
