Jerash

Proud columns
Surround the plaza
Standing tall
After two millennia.
Intricate carvings in stone
Remain - uneroded by time.
Side by side, they worshipped
The Living God
And one who never lived.
If we listen,
Still we hear
Tramp of Roman feet
And actors in the theater
Until maghreb recalls us
From those long silenced
To the One Who is Eternal.
