Hungry child

Eyes of a hungry child
Searching for food,
Stomach of a hungry child
Craving for one morsel of food,
Wish of a hungry child
Dying in the dark of the night,
One more night of hunger
Beneath the empty sky,
That seemed lost in the dark
Aching stomach that was not filled,
Alone and lonely, tired and hungry
Food became the last wish
for a child having done no wrong
except born in a poor family
Where pangs of hunger sometimes ravaged
But where love was strong,
tears of the hungry childs mother,
Shining in the dark of the night
Shines like armour at the altar of dignity,
Begging bowl not asking for alms
When faith for deliverance still holds strong
While body is laid weakened by pangs of hunger
That was never laid low by rich mans pity,
The dignity still holds strong
The dignity still holds strong
Day follows night, night follows day
Some food came way for this child
The kind stranger that gave food
To this child, went hungry last night,
It was not alms but sharing of food,
When in the eternity of that moment
A hungry stomach was filled,
The tears of a mother in gratitude
Was in its highest form,
When the triumph of spirit shone
In the eyes of stars that glistened
All through out the sky
In the altar of dignity when a child's stomach was filled
The faith still stood strong.
The faith now, still holds strong.
