Dual Life Of A Novelist
Thomas first saw her from across the room,
This lady he was determined to know,
But for Rachael not all was that simple,
Instinct told her to hastily go.
The heroine in the novel becomes part
Of the one that’s holding the pen,
Rachael comes to life on paper, as
Amazingly their lives start to blend.
Feelings from deep inside flow forth,
Released as the on-coming tide
Until Rachael and the author are one,
Inside each other now they abide.
Each thought that’s written on the page
Is re-read with startling realization.
That part of herself is laid bare, thus
Revealing heartache and frustration.
The story resumes until one wonders where
One life leaves off or the other begins,
But the author, deep down in her heart
Knows the answer, and secretly grins.
Will Rachael go off with the stranger?
Or will fidelity rule the day?
Will she decide to confess all, and
Deny the temptation to betray?
Even the author has no idea of how
Her heroine will finally decide,
She’ll find the answer as she continues
To look within…to what’s lying inside.
