Crimson Dusk

Waking in the deep grey darkness
The Sun stretched languidly with a yawn
And enveloped Horizon as she slept
In a robe of apricot dawn

Though he was brilliant and streaked in red
I am actually Crimson Dusk he said
Horizon drew tight her robe of peach
When she found this stranger within her reach

Well, I belong to the Night she whispered,
As you be a part of Dusk
Melancholy cloaks me full and whole
However much I may try to demur

But I give power to those, Crimson smiled
Who choose to keep aside the night and rise.
So reached he gently for her then,
Melting her and igniting a fire bright

Tearing aside her old robe of dark
Horizon found a beauty unseen, unsurpassed
And saw how her new garb of peach
Had transformed her, putting her well, within his reach

As they then drew fiercely near
And Horizon suffused herself with him,
She tingled and blazed alive,
Carelessly scattering the countless sparklers aside.

She glowed and gently bloomed
From deep dark night into a hope anew
His love and faith made this woman awake
To hope for something precious and gay.

The sky blushed deep at their unbounded passion
As Crimson streaked Horizon with his hues
The heat blazed white and woke the world
For all to see a new day had come true.
