WRAPPED
Why are people so guarded? I wonder, do they have something to hide? A painful past, bitter memories or perhaps an evil side? Some wound that someone caused long ago That they never let heal Something that someone said or did That caused their trust and hearts to seal Hearts closed. Minds closed. Emotions never let loose. Whom to trust. Whom not to. So difficult to choose. Walls come up instantly, the moment someone new comes face to face. What to say. What not to. To think the mind starts a race. Maybe the walls that are put up, shield them from anymore harm But in living a life like this, tell me where is the charm?
