Seniors

We go from one day into one more
Searching and looking, for a handle to the door.
Only time passes and then replaced
Time is welcome but not the wrinkles on our face.

The keeper of time places few demands
Time gained and lost we just don't understand.
Our time had a beginning and now also an end
Maximum utilization, if we share with a friend.

Someone must keep track and the score
Before we leave, can we ask for one more door?
We know there is a time keeper with lock and key
Only requirement to present our soul to thee.

If the soul is clear and mirror reflective
Images of purity and none defective.
The renewal and the promise to keep
Else a review of an earthly moment for us to weep.
