No Escape

Fear descends upon me

A dense haze, morning fog

Thickening the air around me

And choking out the sun

An impenetrable gloom

It lingers unwelcome and uninvited

And like a hungry leech

It clings to my soul

I stagger aimlessly forward

Trying to escape its grasp

But struggle as I might

The grip is unbreakable

So I begin to panic

Like a vampire at days break

I franticly seek shelter

Anwhere I can hide

But there will be no hiding

And there will be no escape

For that which I fear the most

Is myself
