WORLD GAINED

Something held me close tenderly

All night as I half slept

It was perhaps not what you said

But what I heard instead

I find a smile flirting on my lips

That I do not try to hide

And whoever may listen about you

All day I search to find

Strange how words take on meanings

Those possibly never meant

And a circle of warmth they weave

To erase loneliness spent

But yes, I lived a lifetime there with you

And will do so again & again

A few hours can light up a blaze so bright

To gift me a world gained
