Rise to Shine
Rise my countrymen From your slumber deep, All around you now Does freedom pitiably weep
Rise you educated few Who recognize what it means, To chose a leader who Will know what liberty deems
Let not your apathy And your comforting disgust, Lull you to sit and smirk That there are none today to trust
For our country’s sake Do not let buffoons come and rule, Can’t you hear them now Already squabbling like greedy fools?
Into fragments tiny aplenty Has our beloved land been shattered to, Would you add oil to fire And choose a government that’s hung too?
If the educated will awake & rise Can there be anything we cannot do, Let us begin with stability The rest will follow slowly but surely too…
