Music New

Feet propped up high on the headboard

Tapping a soft steady rhythm on the wood

Tilting to look at the slow whirl of the fan

I find a smile flirting with the pain within

Now rolls off the ball that had settled deep

Within the hollowed caverns of my soul

It seems as if it has finally dislodged itself now

And is reeling off the tip of my painted toes

kooohhh kooohhh does the koel sing sweet

And some sparrows call out to each other loud

A cricket rubs itself gleefully in some dark corner

As all join in to make mysterious surround sounds

Does a new dawn wait around the corner all dressed

Of is it an old one just powdered painted to look new

Matters not, for on the edge of something I stand

Now that I have responded to calls of my friends few
