Forlorn Musings

Why, fair girl, why,

do you bury the love in your eyes?

Why do you always deny,

your feelings, why'd you disguise?

The winds woefully moan,

and through the wild roses blow.

Telling tales of my heart's unrequited love,

in which anguish burns deep below.

My songs written for you,

are sung by the lark soaring high.

Those lonely refrains, crumble in sadness,

for you are not nigh.

And behind my smile, I hide the pain,

like the blooming rose hides the thorn.

The rotting corpse of my love lies,

in my heart, where it was born.
