Falling in love....all over again?

The darkness of this night takes it's toll,
and a strange weariness envelops my soul.
Struggling to control the thoughts in my head,
I sometimes feel I'd be at rest only when dead.

Mournful are to me the clock's chimes,
for they carry away my unsung rhymes.
I know you've never loved me all this while,
but thoughts of you always do make me smile.

Solitary I wander in the stillness of the night,
envious of others' happiness, jealous of their spright.
I still remember the time when I used to rejoice,
on listening to sweet words in your lilting voice.

Clutching and thrashing, I reach out for a dream,
but my pleas to you are only a silent scream.
I might say that I've given up, however much I feign,
just looking at you now, I fall in love....all over again.....
