More about Haiku

Haiku By Agatha Lai

Time flies , years roll by...
Don't count the days that gone by
Time will not turn back.

Good morning nature
Mountains, streams and trees awake
Smile in soft greenness.

Raindrops, one, two, three
Raindrops wash away my tears.
My tears are raindrops.

Night mysteriously
Adorn heaven with stars to
Delight our senses.

A  shell from the shore

 placed in the small sitting room

to  bring in the sea .

Sea wind blows away

 the fragrant breath of a chant

My perfume's a waste.

Haiku By KAPP

bright moon shines with color
pink tint with a yellow glow
gaze upon with awe

the red moon arised
summer wind blows on the trees
velvet clouds surround

Glowing in the sky
Silver orb among the clouds
You capture my soul

Envelop your soul
in gentle moonlight showers
to hide from darkness

My point has been made
so I float along response
that waves in the wind

Haiku By Deepak Amembal

Lightning.

 The clouds are rooted
to mother earth with bright rays
to light up the world.

Blood red rose

Crushed roses bled red
as they lay stomped all over
after the stampede

Serenity

Calm lies the river
From here to eternity
Spreading love and joy

Hehe

Flaming wings above
is it Icarus I see
laughing his wax off

Death wish

Palm fronds hanging low
form the stairway to heaven
where God waits for me

Lovely warmth

Fallen leaves carpet
The hallowed ground which you tread
For a warm rustle

Behind a wall

Peeping through the gap
Life is bright and beautiful
The wait is killing

Matter of size

Size does not matter
when death beckons a large life
from a tiny world

Monsoon dawns

The sun peeps through clouds
tentative awakening
for a wondrous day

Nightfall

Layers of dark clouds
sink gently onto the hills
and rest for the night

Optimist

The hazy future
blurs the bright onset of dawn
I march regardless

Trade

Soft wrinkled painting
A reflection of old age
Traded for hard cash

Nerves

Clouds over mountains
hovering threateningly
break down in a rain shower

Summer eve

Webbings in the sky
catch rays of the setting sun
to filter the light.

Unidimensional

Sitting on the sands
contemplating on the sea
merges time and space

Summit

Sitting on the top
I see the path that leads here
and am gratified.

To do.

On a moonlit night
the planets play hide and seek,
some favor some dont.

Endgame

Layers of color
mark the onset of the night
I just wait and watch

Hi

Look into my eyes
Maybe it will melt some ice
and warm my being.

The sky is red eyed
Sweat trickling down the spine
Summer at its best.

Capped by a dark cloud
The red sun plays hide and seek
A last burst of life.

Open the floodgates

Let the emotions flow through

Now that spring is here

High up in the sky
riding on hot air currents
my emotions soar

A snake in the grass
The wily fox hunts for prey
Nature regenerates.

Ripples radiate
a display of energy
full of happiness.

Boughs bending over
display a kaleidoscope
of tumbling colors.

The sun is shining
heralding another day
No more looking back.

Bonding
Among the branches
of our familial tree
I am Life bonded

Life Dreams
The sand dunes of life
Lead you to the oasis
Is it a mirage?

One for the road

Capped by a dark cloud
The red sun plays hide and seek
A last burst of life.

Stress

Convoluted veins
emerge to network finely
A stressful artwork

Time

Shades of blue and pink
streak the skies at dawn and dusk
Time has evolved.

Wintry night

Sheets of white water
Flakes of shimmering white snow
On a black canvas

Twilight

The hole in the sky
shining bright and beautiful
Beams of happiness.

HAIKU by Dr John Celes

H1

Where the shadow falls?

Where the picture gets revealed?

Depends on where’s light!

H2

Colors so galore;

Beak that cracks the hardest nuts;

Bird of Paradise!

H3

Modern art’s abstract;

Brain cells cannot decipher!

Who can appreciate?

H4

Speed gone haywire!

So are risks of accidents;

Why to drive at all?

H5

Crowns of such tall trees!

Make the trunk enlarge still more;

And the roots to spread!

H6

Life’s a gambling game;

And cheating’s the prime device;

While lost is the soul!

H7

The mountain’s beauty!

Pine-trees densely grow on it;

What a glorious sight!

H8

With eyes placed like man;

Sitting atop trees at night;

Bird of ill-omen!

H9

Snow on mountains high,

Soft like powder, very fine!

Skiers take their risks!

H10

Hovering on flow’rs,

Bees suck the nectary sap off!

Fly off with a kiss!

H11

All seats in array;

Neatly placed, of blue color;

Awaiting game-start!

H12

Houses made of sand!

Just like barrels, they are baked;

In deserts, where else?

H13

One is half-asleep;

Look, cuddling a teddy–bear!

Spouse has gone away!

H14

In Life, the display

Matters more than things all else!

Exception’s the soul.

H15

How food is displayed,

Is more important than taste!

Prime catering truth.

H16

When things of beauty,

I recounted, I forgot-

My lovely mother!

H17

Beauty lies in all

Things great or small; good/ugly!

Even in a frond!

H18

The greatest sculpture

Cannot equal a real

Creature, God hath made!

H19

When life’s sea is rough,

And there is a storm brewing,

Atheists think of God!

H20

The mightiest mammal

In the biggest seas- Blue Whale

Could be extinct soon!

H21

Crystals, needle-like

Growing petalled, flowery!

How marvelously!

H22

Skyscrapers, posh roads;

Lights and speeding motor-cars,

Don’t mean anything!

H23

It is a rare sight

To see a cat and dog sniff

In great friendliness!

H24

Corruption’s the oil

That makes men, states and races

Stay as separate drops!

H25

Wear your condom, man

Have safe-sex and prevent sperms!

Prevent too, AIDS GERMS!

H26

The beams of sunlight

Break through foliage to brighten

The hidden roadway!

H27

Frothy sea-water,

Wets the sea-shore sand and feet

Of people on beach!

H28

Whatever footprints

One leaves on beach-sands today,

Vanish tomorrow!

H29

The briny lather,

Airy, foamy and soapy,

Cleans the dirt ashore!

H30

Gone’s the sand-castle!

Submerged by the sea-water!

The child’s heart feels thrilled.

H31

Look, ‘tis the Whale’s tail!

The mightiest fish of ocean;

Yet, must one day die!

H32

The sunset’s grandeur!

Feast to the eyes from the earth;

Heralding the night.

 H33

All things of beauty

Have their innate dangers too;

We ought to take care!

H34

The drought-hit land looks

Like that of a broken mirror;

How come one grass blade?

H35

All things magnified,

Lose their beauty and too charm!

And when microscoped.

H36

My wing is broken

And I am grounded- can’t fly!

God can yet help me!

H37

From stagnant lakes born,

A wonderful, splendid flow’r,

To God’s feet adorn!

H38

The priceless-most crown

Off the wearer’s head, one day,

Forever, comes down!

H39

With beauteous twin-horned,

A mountain-Goat, I’m so proud

Being mountain King!

H40

Genes do many things!

Yet, how genes get made seems strange;

Stranger, their functions!

H41

Some stones are piled up;

Others cut and polished well,

Some  called monuments!

H42

What waste of labor!

Building pyramids of stone;

That crumble with time!

H43

Men build huge temples!

Decorate them lavishly;

While souls sinful lie.

H44

God asks not for shrines,

In any place on this earth,

Except in your soul!

H45

They slice the mountains,

To build mammoth skyscrapers;

Which earthquakes flatten!

H46

Artists do great things!

With minds that are marvelous;

Minds gifted by God!

H47

A whole heritage

Is lost in a trice by war;

Men are so cruel!

H48

They excavate deep,

To get fossils and preserve;

And bury history!

H49

The food that’s wasted

Can feed all throughout the year;

Who will set this right?

H50

Love’s the best weapon!

Yet, heals wounds of minds, hearts, souls!

Remaining unmatched.

Dry barren land
Sweltering heat of summer
-No food, no water

Mist covered mountains
Grey clouds hide the sun
Day transforms to night

Flowers bloom in splendor
Bees share all their secrets
Welcome, smell of spring

Puddles decorate the path
Wet sand soothes the feet
Drizzling rain relieves many

Golden rays wakes the birds
Kites soar high and so do spirits
Clear sky is the motivator

Plants swayed in harmony
Rhythm of breeze was perfect
It was sign of peace

Cold monsoon wind
Sneaked through warm clothes
Body shuddered

It rained vehemently
Cuckoo's nest soaked totally
Cuckoo looked helplessly

Clouds gathered leisurely
Farmer looked skyward expectantly
Seeds waited to sprout

Desert sand lay still
Footprints many are left behind
Strong wind erased all

Clear blue sky
Lonely bird wandered endlessly
Destination unknown;

Full moon night
Clouds threatened to spoil
Lovers drew closer

Stately palms have gone

Rain

The croaking frogs.

Preparation of a dance

The peacock sways for the rain.

The pregnant sky,

clouds emboldened into darkness.

The inviting earth.

The shadowed hills,

profiling the clouds,

the exalted atmosphere.

The first drop of salvation,

the first ripple on the village pond,

the joy of the rice fields.

The glorious rain,

the majestic rain.

the gentle rain.

Thunder applauds.

Lighting recedes,

into another darkness.

The life of the sky.

The soul of the earth.

Those little droplets of nectar-rain.

Haiku By Sushma Koppikar

My love for you is

Rainbow spanning horizons

Rekindling lost flame.

  Quiet sea reflects

Blazing orange sunset, as

Forlorn tree watches.

 Dewy fresh beauty

Purity personified

Oh! Pristine white rose.

Mirror images meet

Placidly on lake where the

Undercurrents lurk.

 Gossamer veil of

Dawn drops down coquettishly

On shimmering sea.

Bask in the sunshine.

Soon the autumn gold will turn

Cold and wintry white.

Embedded in sand,

Stands the bare tree forlornly

Watching time slip by.
