...THHI AAYI DIWALI
...AND DIWALI CAME

Khushi ke punkho pur udhaan bhurti thhi aayi Diwali,
Apne sung unginnat bahaarei thhi laayi Diwali,
Apni kokhe mei rungeeniya cchupaaye aayi Diwali,
Ishq aur khuluus ke nagmein gaati thhi aayi Diwali,

Nanhi maasoom paazebo se nikal khule nubh mein udhaan bhurte,
Humaare pyaare jiggar ke tukdho ko thhi ghar laayi Diwali,
Mumta ki mithhaas pyaar ki rungoli unki hussi ke fuwaare,
Adbudh shoro gul mei budli unki kilkariyaa thhi laayi Diwali,

Unke maasoom chehro pe ghur waapis aane ki lalak,
Samajh ke unke dil ki baat unhe thhi laayi Diwali,
Bejaan se ghar aangan mein goonjaane ik natkhat si chahak
Humaare pyaar ki anmol nishaaniya thhi laayi Diwali.

Mere ghar se uthhti khushi ki lehrein,
Mere dil mei sumonne thhi laayi Diwali.
Ruh aur dil ko ik pyaar bhurra sukoon de,
Phir laut kur aane ka waada kur chul di Diwali.

Flying on the wings of happiness had arrived Diwali,
Hiding liveliness in her womb had arrived Diwali,
Bringing infinite seasons of joy had arrived diwali,
Singing songs of love and sweetness had arrived Diwali,

From tiny innocent anklets taking flight into the vast skies,
These loving pieces of our hearts had brought home Diwali,
Sweetness of motherhood, 'rangoli' of love fountains of their laughter,
Turned into amazing noise their babyish prattle had brought Diwali,

Fathoming their innocent desires of home coming,
Understanding their hearts desire brought them home Diwali,
To echo their naughty songs in our lifeless and silent home,
The priceless tokens of our love had brought home Diwali

Rising from my home are waves of happiness and joy,
To fill my heart with these waves had come  Diwali,
Giving loving peace to my soul and heart,
Promising to come back again, went away Diwali.
