Kya main tumse ummeed rakhoon- tum meri uljhan suljha sakogei?
Pairon mein mere padi hain zanjiren-unhein kaatne mein mera saath dogei?

Suraj ne to mujhko maayus rakhaa-roshni is taraf ka rukh kar na payee
Harsoon andhere hain- main kho gayee hoon-mujhe dhoondhne ki pahal kya
karogei?

Paaon ke neeche kanteeli jamin hai- is par chalne mein dushwaari hogi
Kya in raahon par kandha mila kar mere hamsafar ki tarah chal sakogei?

Pareshaniyon mein is maanind ghir chuki hoon
Saayaa bhi saath chod gayaa- kya tum rukogei?

Ummeedon ke phool bahut naazuk hain-hawa ke thapede kahin sah na paayen
Meri ummeedon ki salamati ki khaatir mere saath kya tum bhi sajdaa karogei?

Dare I hope you will come to my aid? That you will help me solve my
problems?
My feet are shackled- will you help me get free?

The sun has disappointed me- its rays failed to shine my way. There is
darkness all around-I fear for my existence- will you there be to search me
out?

Beneath my feet the path is thorny-it will be a difficult travel. Will you
be my companion on such path?

I am so much immersed in troubles-even my shadow has parted company. Dare I
hope you will stay?

The flowers of hope are very fragile- they may not sustain the onslaught of
gale. Will you be there to pray beside me for the longevity of these hopes?
