In my heart I had a

To meet you was my desire.
A promise of love in my life
Awaiting the coming spring;

Destiny brought as together in our path of life
Came the season of love
Bringing spring, bearing fragrance in the breeze
Having met you I felt as though
the whole world was mine
All my prayers to the lord
Seem to have been answered
That which I had hoped to hear thou say
Promise of love from thou that I had yearned for
Were thou unable to say
What thy helplessness was I know not
The deepest desire of my heart,
my lips having uttered
Thou were not able to here.
The hope I had of our uniting
That moment though has passed,
Meet then shall we again who knows when
Who knows when spring would come again!
Large hearted was this my love
That had cast over my heart a spell:
In a moment so many years have passed.
In my heart there arose a new zeal
to live a new hope.
Seeing that love still existed in the world
With happiness did I go crazy.
Who knew this love of mine
Was but a palace of glass,
All shattered and destroyed
Lost have I my faith in life!
