Kabhi sochtaa hun ki main bhi likhun haal e dil
par kya karun main sahi alfaaz nahi milte mujhko

 Some time I think I should also write about heart
But I'm helpless as I never get the right words

koi chot mujhe bhi khani hai aashiq wali
par dil tode dard de wo sanam nahi milte mujhko

 I too want to be hurt like some forlorn lover
but I can't find one who will break my heart and give me pain

sharmaayi hui soorat pe mite ya kisi shokh haseena pe
sab mujhe dekh hans dete hai inkaar nahi karte mujhko

 I tried swooning over shy girls and even bold girls
But they all laugh with me and never rebuke me

kahte hain wo ghazal hi kya jis mein aansoo naa aahein ho
koshish kar ke likhta to hun.. par daad nahi milte mujhko

 
They say a ghazal is not impressive unless it contains sighs and tears
I try and write all the same but no one appreciates it
