Raat mein agar chand nikala hota
Chandani mein nahayin hoti tu
Bago mein agar chali hoti hawa
Khushboo se mehaki hoti tu
Jungle mein agar gunjjein hotein geet
Koyal si gungunayin hoti tu
Jharnon mein agar bahan hota pani
Athkheliyan kerti naachati tu
Neend mein agar aayein hontien sapney
Khwaabbon mein behaki hoti tu
Zindagi mein agar kiya hota pyar
Mohabaat baan ke khilli hoti tu
Mehafilein agar sajji hoti aajj
Shama ban ke jali hoti tu
Kissi aur ki na hui hoti agar
Aaj mujhein hi milli hoti tu!

the moon had shone bright
Drenched you would have been by the Moonlight
If winds had passed through the garden
Flowers would have perfumed you
If songs had echoed amongst the trees
Cuckoo like you would have sung
If water had fallen down the falls
Twinkling ,shimmering you would have danced
If in sleep I had dreamt
As my fantasy you would have swayed
If ever in life you had loved
Love like you would have blossomed
If the party had livened up today
Flame like you would have burned
If only you did not else where belong
Mine today you would have been!
