Phir jhalak udhtee hai inmai ek ajeeb chamak,

Aisa lagta hai ke Ganga ki umadtee lehroon par

Jhilmil deepawali ke diye beh jaatai hai, jab bhi…

Aagosh mein jab tumhe mein samaite leta hoon

In aankhon mai ek ajeeb lau se ubhar aati hai,

Charoo taraf iss lau ke angarey bhikher jaatai hai

Ek ajeeb see garmahat, ek diwani see nazakat
