Ek saagar chupke se aakar
Na jaaney kub so gaya
Rahta hai palkon ke peechhey
Naino me dooba sa saagar

kabhi basanti pavan suhaani

sang samay ke aa jaaye

neelam nabh kii chhuv nihaarata

mitney ko muskaata saagar

Kabhi kabhi muskaaney yun hi
Aa baithtii hain saahil par
Unhe mitaaney lahar ek do

Bhej hii deta bahaka saagar

 

Kabhi kabhi chandnii kiraney
Aa jaye sandesha lekar
sunkar chaand kii baaten barbas
Chhalak chhalak ithlata saagar

 

Kabhi kabhi dhundhley baadal ka
Darpan dikhta neela saagar

Jitnaa barasey utna hii phir
Bhar aata dobaara saagar

Kabhi kabhi ghir aaye udaasi
Aur bhanvar me ghirta jaaye
Dhoond raha jo kuchh khoya

khokar bhi kuchh paata saagar

I wonder when

an ocean sneaked in and is napping

behind the eyelids

hiding in my eyes

occasionally a spring breeze comes

in a very timely fashion

and looking at the blue skies

ocean smiles and loses itself

every so often few smiles come

and sit at the shore

and  the deep sea sends waves

to play and wipe them away

every so often moon-rays

bring the messages from moon

and listening to  soft talks

ocean overwhelms and surges

Sometimes the ocean looks like a mirror

to the vanishing clouds

this mirror wells up more

every time it starts to flow

at times its surrounded

by whirls of sadness

it plunges itself to the depths
and finds gems of happiness
