par intezaar rehta

tumhe bataane ka ...

bewaqoof thee main

aur itnee…yeh kabhi nahi socha

rokk liya maine apne aap ko

I remember the days when I would come running to you

To say…”listen…know what happened today ?”

 

You would laugh, ignorant of my feelings

And say …”tell me later …am a bit busy right now”

 

I’d walk away crestfallen…but still eager

To tell you what happened

 

I was stupid not to understand

That what happened meant nothing to you

 

And today when something happens

And I turn towards you involuntarily

I stop myself

I am smarter now…I think

 

But still sad

That this had to happen one day
