So into the boat let us go
Sail away to Monte Carlo
Play on the tables, and the machines
If we win big, I will fulfill all of your dreams
Eat nothing but the finest caviar
Take the penthouse suite, and sleep with out a care
~Tango~

what do you mean 'if we win big'?
we don't have to wait anymore to dance the jig
we are millionaires in this dream, dear
the caviar / penthouse time is already here

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride
If we're rolling in money, why on terra firma reside?
Lets buy a jumbo jet and make it our home
Like free birds across the skies we may roam
Away from the madding crowd, dust ,smoke and din
Peacefully above the clouds we'll sip lime n gin.
~ Mishi~

We could fly to a tropical paradise
Sit under a palm tree sipping rum, coke, and ice
Go out in a glass bottom boat on the lagoon
What the brightly coloured fish, dance to their own private tune
Then dance the night away, to the island guitars
Watch the rich and famous arrive, and leave in their luxury cars
Then spend the morning lying in bed
Listening to the surf pounding on the reef, in my head
~ Tango ~

Sour Grapes !
" If I were a Millionaire" ?
Sorry, I am not with you there;
No, not for me, the seaside cottage and luxury yacht!
I'll be far too worried, as a matter of fact.
"The Income-Tax , the Super Tax " and of course
"Aren't the Shares diving down in the bourse?"
"Me and my dough are not safe", is my hunch
"My burly bodyguards, are they really good at a crunch
?"
No, no , not for me the millions !
I don't want worries in zillions !
You have guessed it right, my Reader Fair
I shun the money only because it's not there !

From the not too enthusiastic response
that this chain poem has got
One wonders about money and poetry
and this is my stream of thought -
Why doesn't the theme 'money'
make poetry flow from pens ?
Wealth is craved for and sought after
Paramount in our scheme of things, hence
one would expect riches would make
poets fancies take flight
And make them copiously write
When they do, about love and hate
friends and mate
About justice and beauty
valor and duty
Volumes are written
even about wars and riots
Why does wealth alone take
the poetry out of poets?
Though we are starting the next chain
You may have more to say, so,
this chain is being left open
and can simultaneously be made to grow

Money and art can never go together
Or Van Gogh wouldn't have died a pauper
What sells is only politics and lies
And empty words in artistic disguise
So Kavitanjali has more than passed the test
You have genuine poets...just as I guessed
Money doesn't seem to really interest them
Only ink and paper...and some inspiration
~Swati Chandran~

Money I think can't buy anything
Money is not the one which adds luv to lives
Money is not that fulfills our dreams
Money is not what we aim for
Spreading luv is what we should think about
Money alone has no place
Without luv nothing can work
Luv is the messenger of us all
Well at last I can say
Give a small amount of luv
And u get back thousands of times more than that
Though it cannot be traded
But it can be sent to your loved ones.
~Guneet Kaur Gulati~

Honey it's the money that pays all the bills
those sweet smelling greenbacks that buys all those frills !
Love, we do need, but also need money to sustain love
Otherwise love'll be missing, and a push could become a shove !
So, a millionaire I'd love to be, with a cottage by the sea
Keep those acrylic nails, sports car , you can share with me !
We'll help those others, who're in love but can't live
With a little help, some money, and a big heart that wants to give !
Mahesh Laxman

Money corrupts, ravages and robs the soul
Why in that vile stuff do men want to roll?
For thirty pieces of silver, their gods men have sold.
Midas, lost his beloved child as he hankered after gold.
Princes, paupers, pretty maidens-et all,
Time and again to this evil did fall.
Those that live only to amass silver and gold
On Life's true meaning do lose their hold.
And those that with their lot content be
Shall Love , Peace and Joy in their lifetime see
~ Tabu ~

o you dreamers
how poor you are
you have a
million and cant go far
thinking of
settling in a countryside
taking your car
for a dusty ride
think of those
who have nothing to eat
their blood
goes water in the simmering heat
if i were a
millionaire then it is certain
that i wont be
living in the bamboo curtain,
shall be out on
the street to feed the poor
otherwise i'm
better a pauper than a millionaire.

Quite right you are, your words are true
Those who think like you are quite few
I've learned my lesson, now you can be sure
That if I get a million I'll help the poor
For they need the money more than I do
But surely I can enjoy a bit too
I think a million is more than sufficient
To make my life much more pleasant
Its not materialism to which I refer
Instead, simple things I prefer
Going to vacations by flight
Hearing the sea rolling in at night
And meetings with nature are things that cheer me
So God, I wonder if you hear me??????

I'd Quite Not Agree, My Dearest Friend,
An Opportunity Like This, Is Truly Godsent!
In Millions I'd Roll, I'll Make It Huge;
And Dive In Green Notes, Like Uncle Scrooge.
You Know, One Million Can't Satisfy Me To Lees;
Just Like A Belle Dame Who Will Only Tease!
Still, Coming To Think Of It, I'm Sure
If I Were A Millionaire, I'd Still Want More!!
And In A Quest To Fulfil My Dreams
I'd Invest In A Policy, The Best Which Seems.
And Then I'll Visit Kavitanjali, And Do The Rhyme,
And Make Another Million, In Just No Time!!
