Theoretically Speaking..

If evolution means what it really does

Then what follows, be better, must

The ape came first and then the man

Draw conclusions that you can

If woman came later, as goes the tale,

Who’s superior? Surely not the male !?

Swati Chandran

God made man

frail as a bubble

god made woman

woman made trouble

god made the vine

was it a sin

that xes made wine

to drown poets in

~ xes ~

The new improved version after man

Faces challenges with a confident  "I Can"

When confronted by a situation or a line

Doesn't resort immediately to a tub full of wine

~ W ~

Hic! I drank it all and didn’t drown

You're still wearing that funny frown

Hell hath no fury like woman scorned

Or a man who’s pride was tread upon

Don’t kill me just to prove your might

Come now, lets have a fair fight!

~ Swati Chandran ~

some people have no respect for age

until it bottled be

of course the more i drink

the prettier you i see

why pride or fury or frown

i thought our love was a verb - not a noun

xès

While God was in his lab making Man
He was so full of cheer and festivity
That he forgot some basic ingredients
The first of which was Sensitivity
Then he totally left out Intuition
And misplaced some of His famed Compassion
Aghast, he looked at his end product
"I CAN DO BETTER!" he exclaimed with passion!

Aekta

back to work went god

he huffed and puffed - did the lord

and then he stood back and he did see

that his latest invention was a bigger mystery

and he thought that he had to do better - as he had claimed

but now the being he had made was modesty maimed

for he had added woe to man

webster says it's a woman

xè§

Before apes were monkeys
in this evolutionary tale,
who looked a bit clumsy
with their two tail

In man, God removed one
and in woman, the other
how, losing this tail
make women superior?

Rajiv Lather

Lets not even talk of woe
Men have always caused lots more
Even as they rave and rant
They can't hold on to their pants
Wonder what makes them so insecure
Just that women are strong and sure?
Wish they'd learn some self control
We'd have a safer, saner world

Swati Chandran

Of course it was a man
who came first
and as imperfect as
all firsts are  !!!
comparisons are odious
peek into a labour room
and then talk of superiority
9 months thru with 9 pounds
what are we talking to men
who need A laxative for a mere
extra meal ?????

SHOBHNA  RAVI

God's first born had a case of gender envy
To his perfect peer he couldn't hold a candle
Of course he was full of woe and misery
This loveliness personified, he couldn't handle!

~ Aekta ~

Once there was this planet
and it was called 'the dearth'
where men held on to their pants
for all the they were worth,
as per the wishes of lady poets there.

Women were sure & strong
and men had self control
'twas a safer saner world
where reproduction had no role,
making the human race disappear.

~ Rajiv Lather ~

I am sure God is female

Who made Woman in her likeness

And gave her too, the power

She had Herself:

To bring forth another life.

~ Aekta ~

you're so right, O Mother Superior

I fully agree - men are terribly inferior

can't stitch or cook, nor read a book

drink too strong and aim all wrong

they don't even have a great posterior.

~Bittersweet~

I was talking about the other end
Where we smart ones have our brains!?
They are thinking of butts and tails
While we try to preach in vain!

Bah! these guys and their one track minds
A thinking man is so hard to find!!
When he is, of all his pretenses, shorn
A man with a brain is an Oxymoron

Swati

Now hold a moment my good friends -

Are we so truly anti-men?

They do have uses, you'll agree.

Although at times it's hard to see

How they can act the way they do:

I've seen more manners in a zoo,

But when I'm cold and blue at night

I want no chimp to hold me tight,

And though men can be aggravating

Monkeys are not good for dating,

When a shoulder I would cry on,

It's a man I will rely on.

~ Marilyn Gordon ~

Its good to hear that we men have our uses
Even if only it is to fix electrical fuses
We rush hither and thither to do our womens bidding
Then we stop to think, crikey she has to be kidding
But we carry on each and every day
Pretending to let them have their way

Tango

I think they are sweet,

these creatures,

with two left feet,

one on the ground

and one in their mouth,

keeping them lopsided,

rushing north and south.

Stumbling and bumbling,

they make me glad,

that I can with them be,

cute, or mommy or bad.

For without their presence,

the world would be bleak,

who could give us so much

entertainment?

For years, days and weeks.

Sujata

We can fix our own fuses, thank you

And open doors for ourselves too

The only reason we put up with you

Is because we need to reproduce

And woe is us when we find

That we’ve produced one more of your kind!

Coolspirit

So this is what you ladies do ?
When we guys doth work off our butts ....
You compose rhymes of men & apes
While sipping coffee and nibbling nuts ?

Silly us ! How could we think
That we go for work, so you can rest
How could our sweat ever relate
To the 'shanti' in your nest ?

We must be dumb ! Coz you said so
Forget what the smart guys penned
And coz we are dumb we know not why
First Ape, then Man, then "You" God sent ...

Methinks what God had in mind
Was you and I should synergise
Supplement, not snipe the other
Thus spake one dumb ; what think thou wise ?

..... KM

I wasn’t going to enter this debate, but

I’d like to say God “don’t make no mistakes;”

It isn’t his fault that now and then his

“Creature,” man, doesn’t have what it takes.

So what if they live on a whole different planet

And always seems to be a century behind?

Sometime its fun “catching them up”if

You can overlook their one-track mind.

Even though we are quite capable,

Now and then they come in quite handy,

I have to admit there are ‘those’ times,

And then we think they’re quite ‘dandy’

twilah

Oh no! Now lets not start on that
We work just as hard as you do
And if we were to take a break
You'd miss this home you come back to

As for the husbands of "working" wives
Their bread is buttered on both sides

Swati Chandran

Don't pretend our attention isn't what you want
You don your makeup, your slim figures you flaunt
You're forever making eyes at us
If we ignore you, you kick up a fuss

Make up your minds, oh creatures divine
While we decide what's headier, woman or wine!

What’s all this talk about woman and man

But try to figure this out if you can

If man becomes woman and woman becomes man

Who’ll dance the cancan and who’d be left holding the can?

~ Siddharth Sanyal ~

We've had enough can't take it anymore

we know when we're called a sore

we're renting a boat and will sail the seas

away from bossy wives and nagging bees

to a masculine garden of Eden we'll reach

where there's no skirt and plenty of beach

lots of sun and lots of drinks

who needs women around methinks..

~Bittersweet~

this battle of the sexes a funny thing
a diamond tiara or a wedding ring
of course god invented man you know
for can the electric vibrator the lawn mow
maybe, men and women often fight
and the women do win - not an uncommon sight
but when "its" over and they stop
its often the man who comes out on "top"
but one thing I can never fathom you see
you get her roses, she gets suspicious
you don't get her roses, she gets upset
you come home early, she thinks you want something
you come home late, she thinks you already got it
but the bottom line forever remains
however much we may love them or flaunt them
we can live with, but cannot live without them.

~Brat~

From amongst this galactic chaos,
After the biggest big cosmic bang,
Evolved an enigma called a bias.
You man, I woman, you nuts, our clan!

We create alliances that urge to divide,
A WTO for global good,
With one hand we burn the bride,
With the other we dole out food.

Simha

Man and woman...
Why is there a need for one
to be greater
the other lesser
Should they not instead be
one meant for the other
to work not just as sister or brother
Be friends and more
Live and love
Forever and ever...

Helena Fernz

God made man
And taught him to survive
To fight and kill
To endeavour and strive
Man learnt and did
And then from above
God sent woman
To teach man to love.

Aekta

Man alas! woe is you

You never seem to get  your due

I can't resist but reiterate

Man is required just to mate

But hark! even THAT is open to debate.

Your "masculine Garden of Eden" will soon be within reach

so you can enjoy on that "skirtless beach",

We'll make you a boat and set you sail

What a peaceful world it will be - rid of all males!

~Malini~

Bunched up fists and tousled hair

angry women look a pretty pair

men drive you nuts

no ifs and buts

admit it, all you ladies out there..

~Bittersweet~

My dear friends I wouldn't have entered this debate

Had I not been lovingly nagged to do so by my mate...

Man is a bundle of inherent contradictions

He claims to face reality but fantasizing is his addiction,

He can boldly face a lion and bravely fight wars

But is scared to answer a simple question about where he was,

He promises to cherish her and weds her for better or for worse

But actually wants just a mistress, maid and nurse.

He desires to be treated like a king

yet behaves like a clown

We women have raised man on a pedestal

now it's time to knock him flat down.

~Neera~

We may be beaten but we're not out

we'll think of something to crow about

we're open to reason

any time, any season

when you need us men, just shout.

~Bittersweet~

Seasons come and seasons go,

But reasoning, mmm now..I don’t know..

Seems their mind is usually set,

Unless there’s one I haven’t met.

Let’s face it, men, it couldn’t be clearer,

Women are so much more superior.

In many ways, c’mon, ‘tis only true,

Us women deserve our rightful due

~ Twilah ~

For every woman there's a perfect man
Or so they say in story books
I've looked everywhere I can
and not found mine in any nook
Can you please answer this for me?
Is the perfect man a fantasy?

Mowing, Crowing, Showing off
Can we talk of something else
Like respect, love and romance
Try sharing, caring, thoughtful-ness?
Or is that Latin to you boys...
Who still think of women as toys?

Swati Chandran

Men won't be found in story books

nor in attics and nor in nooks

there will be one, a true solitaire

amongst all the other goons and crooks...

Did I hear someone say toys?

naaa... is that the way we treat 'em, boys??

A woman to us is the best

to shower love and treat with respect

so what if she considers us a lil suspect

we'd still be incomplete without her...

~Bittersweet~

You sweep us off our feet with romance

Sweet beguiling promises you make

O stone hearted selfish liars, tell me

Of one woman whose heart you didn't break.

~C L~

Women TOYS ! My friend, that’s a lousy thought !

All our affection, all our love – have they come to a nought ?

Toys are a passing fancy – to play with and cast aside

A true man would never do that with his mate, lover or bride !

Ah yes ! I see that you’re still searching for the “perfect man”

There’s someone out there somewhere, you’ll find him – I’m sure you can !

But this, you need to believe in ; I did and found her here ….

Miles away from where I live but there’s nothing we don’t share.

I love her for being what she is, understand what she cannot be …

I adore her and grateful am, for what she has made of me.

We have shared fantasies, we have exchanged dreams,

All on the net, believe me friend – and yet so real it seems !

We have even met (just once, her place) discovered what we share,

Is no mere illusion, but intense beyond compare …

But I digress, do I not ? Caught in thoughts private ….

Believe me I wish you well, I pray you find your mate.

Sadly, there’s no perfect man nor woman immaculate …

What’s perfect though, is the bliss, the peace with our “Perfect Mate”

~KM~

Without any duress I can firmly state
At times there's no denying men are great
They sure take us on pleasant flights
But what is tough is how we alight
Its all very nice when they take us to town
What hurts aplenty is the hard touch down
They cant be trusted, save but a few
Soon their true colours begin to show through
the facade of loyalty begins to crumble and
from bliss into depression we are made to tumble
Was the trip worth it, in light of the painful toss?
Perhaps a world without men, wont be such a big loss.

W

A world without us men I'm sure would seem ideal

There would'nt be any fighting, or wars

Least that's what I feel

But our kisses and cuddles I'm Sure you would miss

At least let us think we give you, some happiness.

~Tango~

Love is divine the sages sing.
What is the yang without the yin?
Our differences are plainly meant
To serve as mutual complement.
Good poets and sweet poetesses
Your colleague here humbly confesses
To see no reason for this fight.
It seems that we are losing sight
Of all that we are meant to be,
The reasons we are he and she.
Sister, if you can't love your man,
Remember please that someone can.
Brother, you remember, too,
That she might do better than you.
I think we would not be amiss,
To call a truce, sealed with a kiss.

~ Marilyn Gordon ~

I started it, I beg to end

This crazy poem here, my friends

We’ve had so much fun and how!

Time to kiss it goodbye now

Though we all did rue in jest

Each calling the opposite sex, a pest

There is one thing I’m sure about

We’re happier with them…than without

~Swati Chandran~
