LADIES WHO LUNCH

Quaff some wine

Kiss some air

Show off your diamonds or

Your salon styled hair.

If looks could kill

There would be no one left alive

“Why Mrs. Mehra,

Isn’t that last year’s style!!!!???”

The color of the season here is always green.

Whether it’s your big bucks, or envy

You choose what is to be seen.

Sigh about children starving in Ethiopia

While you daintily nibble at your caviar.

Huge quantities of champagne you swallow

While reminiscing how the world is a place so shallow.

The dip of the sensex, doesn’t bother you

Whether its rain or drought, you don’t have a clue.

Anxiety, loneliness, depression are your constant companions.

You call yourself the Crème-de-la-Crème

You are smiling on the surface like everything is fine

While inside you suppress silent screams.

~ Mayuri Sharma ~

All this is done you know

To save the world

That suffers below

 A mere dribble

From my nibble

May suffice

To feed the lice

That populate

My unfortunate world.

~ Deepak Amembal ~

Do not dare rest your gaze here ,

something it is I seek ,

which I shall find,

Its nothing to you ,

And yes .. it is well defined ..
