WITCH'S FROLIC

It was a wild winter night when the witch

Bestrode her broomstick bent on bringing bad

Dreams to somebody---a determined itch

That made her most decided on a mad

Adventure having vile malevolence---

A pert persuasive witch with pretty glance. . .

~ Stanley ~

Into the dark dreary night she flew
Her midnight feline riding on her broom
Evil thoughts making her gleeful
Proposing all kinds of malevolent disposes

Silver moon spied her flight
And sped hastily behind a cloud to cower
To blot her endeavors vile and wicked
Night lent her hand with an inky cover

~ Glowing Embers ~

Cast her spell on an interesting subject
In the dim-lit room he was engulfed in sweet slumber
The cherubic smile on his face did arrest
The malicious witch who began to plunder
His psyche to turn him into a fiend
She caressed the lithe body and entered the mind
Gleefully anticipating adventures wild

~ Jayanti Sinha ~

When he awoke he was bemused,
on remembering the dream, he was confused.
He saw a witch on a broomstick riding high,
Remembered her caresses, and heaved a sigh.
Was it a dream, or was it true.
did she come through his window out of the blue.
Was he now forever under her spell,
doomed to ride with her at night, into the fires of hell.

All this he mused as his mind splurged with rot
And Began he to plan his daily slot
Vile plans spread, blotted thoughts sane and kind
The witch's caresses had blurred his mind
Instead of praising the Lord for his daily bread
He found that he remembered the devil instead

Poor human pawn could just not fathom,
Witch attired Destiny swung its barbaric baton,
To ruin and vanquish its chosen ones,
Always its most pious and precious sons,

He evokes the Holy Spirit for His lone kindness,
To change Destiny's garb into one of gentleness,
He prayed fervently to his Saviour,
Let dusk not engulf his dawn forever,

Sonali.S.C

But God- the ultimate jester-had other plans for him
The Destiny against which he fervently prayed
Was also designed but by Him
Now he playfully pulled the threads
The witch, the victim all danced to His decree
To prolong the humor of the scene-the wizard was required to take entry
The muggle, the wizard- the malevolent witch
The scene was potent-God could not resist.

~ Jayanti Sinha ~

Whenever God has played a joke

You may be sure it will be good:

He smiled, and taking thought about

The witch, decided that she should

Be taught a gentle lesson for

Disturbing mortal sleep and more. . . .

~ Stanley ~

The thunder crashed,
as the lightning flashed
God, gave a great big chuckle,
the witches broom stick broke in half,
and she crashed into a puddle
All wet and bedraggled,
her fist she shook at the sky,
screaming, you I will get, in the bye, and bye

So dispatched He Cupid as he lay,
Sleeping in his chambers so gay,
With clear instruct that his bow should fell
The Witch as soon as the mortal her beheld

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes
Cupid heard this new ploy with a smile
A game this surely would be strange
A Witch in love with her vile victim deranged!
