Where Are Those Happy Days?

Where are those happy days
full of our kiddish ways

with no thought for tomorrow
and no cause for sorrow

those days gone by
with no reason to cry

with no worry at all
happily on the floor you'd crawl

that's the best age by far
when you get no hurt nor scar

with wide eyes you look
like an angel out of a fairy book

there's no caste nor creed
nor any cause for greed

you get all you want
not caring how it's got

why worry when there are elders
to care and create shelters

that time you never knew
that when you also grew

that rosy world of yours would fade
bringing cold reality in it's place

it's one of nature's jokes
kids want to become big blokes

while the big ones always say
where are those happy days..
