Dawn Of Absence

In the dawn of your absence

as the sun stretches through the darkness
and I see your shadow
has been replaced by light.

The soothing shade you cast all through me
is now exposed  once again
to Day.

And when my weeping has ceased
and the dew is ascending to the wakening skies
lost
in the gentle power
of the broadly sighing clouds.

I see that time has returned
I see the day is new
And I see the idol
The Shield
I once hid behind
Was You.
